This page is all about the WordPress theme, Brightlight, which is a free theme developed by Micky Corbett and used on various websites. It was originally developed so that pages could be grouped and displayed like posts with just a few clicks and filling in a few input fields.
It kind of grew into something else after that!
The main reason Brightlight now exists and is free is to help others starting out build functional websites. The links below go into detail about what Brightlight can do and how you can hack it further or use it out of the box. Brightlight isn’t a “one size fits all” theme – it gives you a certain amount of control and is fully responsive plus you can do quite a lot with its in-built slideshows and randomiser.
Not to mention, squeeze page template, custom advert, easy optin form (using Aweber), integrated Facebook comments and social buttons. The list goes on.
That said you can choose to strip it all out and add what you want. Just know that you don’t need to do this from scratch.
UPDATE 8/12/2016 – You can download the latest version of Brightlight (v1.4.4) here – Brightlight Theme
